Jill's Wish and The Walk

Some of you might be saying what is "Jill's Wish?" and why am I posting about this. Last spring I was watching a photography course taught by Sue Bryce on creativeLIVE and towards the end of the last day. She played this video of this amazing woman named Jill. She is a very young woman who is going through cancer. Her story struck me. I have had family and friends who have been taken by this horrible disease. It really hit close to me, when I found out my Mom had breast cancer. She is a very strong woman and at the age of 74 at the time. This scared me. Yet after two surgeries and radiation. My Mom Nancy ,was able to kick it's butt ,who is my main inspiration.

I decided after seeing Jill's story and her continuing fight against cancer. I would choose her charity Jill's Wish for The Walk. We will be walking through 12 states over 6 to 7 months. We will be meeting people and spreading the word. We still need a lot of help to get this going. We have less then a month and a half till we embark. Please watch the video below to learn who Jill is. Thank you Jill for being an inspiration.

I ain't got no flu like The Walking Dead

I have had my health issues over the years. Yet around me I see all the sick people. Catching the flu and colds. I'm going on year 3 of not having a cold and going on year 26 of not getting the flu. It took me a while to figure out the best method for fighting the common cold! Well I found my prevention. It's hard to do in Wa. State. Yet if you try this when ever the weather is clear, and that glorious ball of burning gas is burning bright. You will kick The cold and the flu's Asses! I know I have! During the summer, I would spend 2 to 8 hours in the sun. Make sure to drink lots of water. The Vite D is an amazing thing the body creates when coupled with the powerful rays of the sun. Use proper sun protection of course. Hope you all try my method with success. If the sun will bust through the clouds. Even 15 minutes here and there can help.

Feels good not to be sick! Thank you sun! I Love   you!

Some Things Change

Sometimes things don't!

I feel like I made a big mistake! I sent a friend request to a old friend I knew when I was a kid. My families have known each other for over 40 years. My Dad even went to school with his dad back in the 50's. My Mom has been friends with his Mom since 1970. They are still friends today and she comes over to visit almost every week. I have not seen much of him in the last 27 years. We stopped hanging out during Junior High. I moved quite a ways from where I had used to live. He kind of went his own way. Going to Illahee and then Decatur! Well over the years. I have heard and admired his life! He was in the Navy! (thanks for your service) had a long career there. Met a beautiful girl and got married! Has kids! Works in Government! I have always held him up as someone I wish I could be like. I of course have had not the same life! I struggle with my eyesight and trying to do what I can to fit into this world! We are close to the same age. His birthday was last week. So I sent him the request and wished him a happy 41st birthday! Now I made a mistake not to send it with my alt account. What a error. This was his response he made on his timeline asking in a public posting........................................................

"Do you ever get a FB friend invite from someone you knew many years ago, maybe even growing up, only to accept and realize from their postings, you probably would have nothing to do with that person in your current life? What should you do? Should you de-friend them on FB right after you just accepted them, or just ignore their posts for a while?"

I can totally get where he is coming from. I went on a posting spree the last couple days. So the only thing he is going to see when he accepted my friend request is a overload of links and images of half naked woman! For a family guy like that to maybe be at his machine and have his kids walk by or wife! Might not be such a good thing. The truth is, we really have not been friends since back in Junior high! I should most likely take this dude from the high place I had put him on. Yes I admire him. I still like him. I do wish him the best in his life! Some of the best memories of My Dad, have been when he and his brother spent weekends over at our place. and for that I will always be greatfull! Thanks Mike!

Nikon D7100 And The New 80mm - 400mm Lens

This Nikon Camera looks really awesome. I was thinking of getting the D7000.
So good I waited.

The arrival of the 24MP D7100 comes two-and-a-half years after the announcement of its predecessor the D7000, and it's a pretty serious upgrade. Significantly, Nikon Europe's presentation of the camera describes the D7100 as the company's 'flagship DX model', and omitted mention of the D300S in the company's DSLR lineup. Certainly, the gap between the D7100 and D600 now leaves little obvious room for a 'D400.'
It was only a matter of time before 24MP resolution became standard across Nikon's entire range of DX-format APS-C DSLRs, and lo and behold - the 24MP D7100 is the latest in the series, but this isn't just the sensor from a D5200 packaged a newer body. In fact, this would be a fundamental misunderstanding of the new camera.
The critical thing here is that despite the fact that the D7100 is Nikon's third DX-format 24MP DSLR, its sensor is new, and unique in Nikon's stable. In a first for Nikon, the D7100's sensor lacks an optical low-pass filter (OLPF). The D800E, Nikon's highest-resolution DSLR has the effect of its OLPF 'cancelled out', but the D7100, like the Pentax K-5 IIs, omits it altogether. The result should be higher resolution than is possible from the conventional 24MP sensors in the D5200 and D3200, and Nikon clearly feels comfortable with the associated higher risk of moiré in fine patterns - one of the few black marks against the 36MP D800E when we tested it last year.

Don't judge by the look!

Yes, these two do look scary. Yet the real scary ones are the ones who control them.

They are only dangerous in the wrong hands. I do kinda teeter on the PitBull. Out of the two, The dog can actually go out and cause trouble without its owner. Yet it goes into its training. Which comes down to the person in control.
